Bartłomiej Banaszak currently serves as the Director of the European Affairs Department at the Polish Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, where he has been working since 2021. He is also the Chair of the High-Level Working Group on Competitiveness and Growth.
Until 2021, Bartłomiej Banaszak was associated with the academic sector, having a significant influence on shaping reforms of the higher education and science system both in Poland and in Europe. From 2019 to 2021, he held a position of Director of the Department of Science at the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MSHE). In 2016-2018 he was a member of a ministerial drafting group for the new law on higher education and science. Bartłomiej Banaszak represented MSHE in the Bologna Follow-up Group (from 2011 ro 2018) and was a co-chair of various working groups within the framework of the European Higher Education Area. Between 2011 and 2016 Bartłomiej Banaszak served as the Ombudsman for Graduate Affairs. From 2009 to 2010, he was the President of the Students’ Parliament of the Republic of Poland.
