Illa Brockmeyer is Head of EU and International Affairs at METRO AG. METRO is a leading international food wholesale company with over 90.000 employees whose core customers are small and independently owned businesses in the Hotel, Restaurant and Catering industry as well as small grocery stores and kiosks. In this function she heads the Representative Office of METRO in Brussels and is responsible for steering and coordinating METRO's public policy activities in 16 EU countries, and in over 30 countries worldwide. Before joining METRO in 2016, Illa worked for the German industrial conglomerate thyssenkrupp, the German development bank KfW in Syria and the German Federal Foreign Office in New York.
