Nataliia Shapoval is the President of the KSE Institute, one of the largest think tanks in Ukraine, and the Vice President for Policy Research at the Kyiv School of Economics. She is a member of the Yermak-McFaul International Expert Group on Russian Sanctions and a Member of the Economic Policy Advisory Council to the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
Since 2014, Ms. Shapoval has been a member of the Editorial Board of Ukraine No. Nataliia served as a volunteer Executive for VoxUkraine since its launch in 2014 and till its institutionalization in 2018.
In 2024 she became a Visiting Scholar at Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
Natalia Shapoval has twelve years of experience in managing and conducting policy research and consulting projects in economic policy, public procurement, the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, strategic development of the private sector. Natalia advised on several governmental strategies, including economic, regional development, and investment.
Since February 2022, the KSE Institute has initiated projects including the assessment of damages resulting from Russian aggression and the monitoring and analysis of foreign companies' operations in the Russian market, particularly those reducing or ceasing their activities, economic policy and investment policy and sanctions.
With the Ministry of Economy KSE develops Investment Portal for the investors in Ukraine and from abroad.
Shapoval got a Master's degree in Probability Theory and Statistics from Taras Shevchenko National University, and Master in Economic Analysis from the Kyiv School of Economics.
