Maria Vasylieva works for Metinvest Group, an international iron ore and steelmaking group with key production assets located in Ukraine, with rolling capacities in Italy, Great Britain, and coal mines in the USA. Maria is a General Manager of Metinvest business unit responsible for strategic capital projects.
Maria has the Master of Arts from Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Ukraine, Graduate diploma in insurance and risk management from Deakin University, Australia, and the Master of Business Administration from IMD, Switzerland.
Maria has experience in insurance (QBE Insurance Ukraine, 1998-2005), internal control and risk management (Azovstal, 2005-2006 and Metinvest Holding, 2006-2010), CapEx controlling (2010-2016), finance (CFO of Zaporizhstal, 2016-2018) and Capital Projects management (2018 – up to now).
Under Maria’s management, the portfolio of the completed projects amounted to > EUR 0.8 billion, and overall project pipeline in progress is > EUR 4.0 billion.
