Dr Mark Mawhinney is the Lead Advisor in the Innovation & Competitiveness Department, Projects Directorate.
Mark initially worked in international construction before switching to innovation. In 2002, he was recruited to run a large ERDF project to exploit and commercialise research in Northern England before working at Oxford University in a similar area. In 2009, he moved to the European Investment Bank to be a part of the Knowledge Economy team within JASPERS to continue the work at a pan-European level.
He has a BSc in Civil Engineering, a PhD in engineering and an MBA.
