Marta Yugo

With over 17 years of experience in the energy sector, Marta Yugo currently works as senior manager at the R&D center of Repsol, where she coordinates the research activities linked to the integration of new conversion technologies and circular economy concepts into refining and chemical sites.

Marta started as a refining process engineer at REPSOL Technology Center and then worked as a senior Energy and Carbon Analyst before being seconded to the European Fuel Manufacturers Association in 2017. There, Marta had the opportunity to gain deep understanding on the challenges of the transition, first from the technical side as the Science Executive leading the Refining into Energy Transition programme at Concawe, complemented then by the legislative aspects of the FitFor55 package supporting the deployment of low carbon fuels towards 2050. 

Being the Policy Executive at FuelsEurope until September 2023, Marta has provided governance and supervision of FuelsEurope’s advocacy activities in the field of fuels, aviation and maritime preparing the advocacy strategy within ad-hoc working groups and leading the external outreach towards relevant stakeholders. As of September 2023, Marta is back working for Repsol in Spain. 

Marta’s holds a bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering and a MSc degree in Refining, Gas and Marketing.
