Dimitar Bogov is EBRD Regional Lead Economist for Eastern Europe. He is an economist with more than 25 years of experience on senior management positions in the government sector, business consultancy, commercial banking and central banking. As a Governor, he led the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia between 2011-2018 in challenging environment of global non-standard monetary policies, confidence crisis in the Eurozone and through domestic political crisis. Before that, he served four years as vice-governor. Between 2002-2007 he was Chief Economist of Stopanska banka AD Skopje, a member of NBG Group. He also held managerial positions in the Ministry of Finance and State statistical office. Experienced in macroeconomic management, monetary policy implementation, banking regulation and supervision, foreign reserves management, risk management, finance and statistics. He has actively participated on a numerous international conferences speaking about macroeconomics, monetary policy and banking. In the period 2014-2018 he was a Steering Board member of Vienna Initiative 2 representing the Western Balkan countries.
