Csaba Borboly is a long-time leader of the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (RMDSZ), actively representing the interests of the Hungarian minority and youth. He was a founding member of several youth organizations and has led the DAHR Ciuc Region since 2007. He served as vice-president of the Harghita County Council from 2004, president from 2008 to 2012, 2016, and 2020. Currently he is the vice-president of Harghita County Council.
Since 2012, he has been a permanent member of the EU Committee of the Regions, contributing to the SEDEC and ENVE committees as part of the European People’s Party. He is involved in several ongoing initiatives, serving as Chair of the Working Group on Bosnia and Herzegovina and Second Vice-Chair of the SEDEC Commission. He is also a member of the Interregional Group on the Future of the Automotive Industry, CORLEAP, the GI Carpathians group, and the Romanian delegation.
