Joanna Smolik has worked at BGK since 2010, initially as a specialist and expert in the Structured Finance Department, and since 2014 as director of the office responsible for structuring financing for the energy, transportation and municipal sectors. In 2020, she took on the role of director of the Office of Structuring Distressed Transactions dealing with early restructuring of companies. Since April 2021, she has been the director of the Strategic Relations Department, whose main task is to support Poland’s sustainable socio-economic development by providing financial solutions and comprehensive banking services to key business entities.
At BGK, she is also director of the Strategic Security program, responsible for setting strategic directions regarding the bank’s activities in the area of security and energy transition, as well as increasing the level of cyber security in the economy.
In addition to her work at BGK, she has gathered her professional experience in the private equity sector as a manager of a fund operating in the field of renewable energy.
She graduated from the Warsaw School of Economics with a degree in finance and banking, and from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences with a degree in economics.
