Duarte Bello joined EDP Group in 2006 as Head of M&A and Corporate Development, overseeing international M&A transactions in renewables and networks in Europe, the U.S., Latin America, and China. Three years later, he took over as Chief of Staff for EDP’s CEO.
Since 2017, he has been developing his professional career at EDP Renewables, where he is CEO for Europe and LATAM, leading the strategy for renewable onshore (wind and solar) in 15 countries. He is also a member of EDP Group’s Investment Committee.
Prior to joining EDP Group, Duarte worked in investment banking at Citigroup in London, and at Schroder Salomon Smith Barney in the UK and Portugal. As for his academic background, Duarte studied Business and Administration at Faculdade de Economia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and later completed his academic training with an MBA at INSEAD (France and Singapore).
