Gunnar Kassberg serves as the Deputy Director of the SEPT Competence Center at Leipzig University. He has held positions with various institutions specialising in Economic Development, Knowledge & Technology Transfer, Business Development, and Start-up Promotion.
In close collaboration with his esteemed colleague, Professor Dr. Utz Dornberger, Director of SEPT, they have spearheaded the development of pioneering initiatives, teaching methodologies, and student programs. Together, they have created a vibrant ecosystem that seamlessly connects students with the local business and start-up community in innovative ways.
Their joint efforts have resulted in a diverse array of initiatives and learning formats that provide students with invaluable real-world exposure and experience. These initiatives not only bridge the gap between academia and industry but also serve as a proactive response to the pressing issue of workforce scarcity. Gunnar's expertise lies in the internationalisation of SMEs, particularly in the areas of planning international market research, analysing cross-cultural marketing campaigns, and implementing online marketing tools. Currently, Gunnar holds the role of Team Lead at the SMILE Entrepreneurship Initiative, where he continues to drive his passion for social engagement and entrepreneurial innovation.
