Matthias Bölke

Matthias Bölke studied Electrical Engineering, did his PhD in advanced robotics research and has been active in the field of automation and energy management for over 30 years. After his academic career he moved towards industry, where he was active in different entities such as SquareD, Telemecanique and Schneider Electric, where he was involved in R&D, Marketing and as CEO of Schneider Electric’s Country organisations.

He spent more than half of this time abroad and today he is global VP for Strategy and Industrial Automation for Schneider Electric, living in Berlin. Matthias is engaged in various boards and associations in the industrial market. With his engagement as chairman of the newly created Industrial Digital Twin Association (IDTA) he leads most relevant and critical topics of the digital transformation at manufacturing. Also with his engagement as EFAM-chairmen he orchestrates a comprehensive political positioning through relevant direct inputs from the European Industry in the field of Advanced Manufacturing.
