Michal Pinter

Michal Pinter was appointed as Director of Governmental, EU Affairs & REACH at U.S. Steel Kosice (USSK), a subsidiary of the United States Steel Corporation, in January 2007. In his function, he also represents USSK in the Slovak National Union of Employers, the country’s most influential employers’ association.

He is the chair of the European and Foreign Affairs Committee, in the American Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia, as well as its Second Vice President. He is also active in the Czech Steel Union as a member of the Supervisory Board and in the European Steel Association EUROFER.  

Mr. Pinter is also a coordinator of delegates of the Employers Category (17 industrial sectors) and a Consultative Commission for Industrial Change (CCMI) at the European Economic and Social Committee, representing Eurofer and APEAL - The Association of European Producers of Steel for Packaging. Mr. Pinter was a member of the European Economic and Social Committee from 2010 to 2015, where he served as a Vice President of the Employers Group between 2013 and 2015.  

Prior to joining USSK, Mr. Pinter worked for nine years as Senior Economic Specialist at the United States Embassy in Bratislava, Slovakia. He also has several years of experience in financial news reporting.
