Stephan Sicars serves as the Senior Coordinator for Ukraine at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) within the Directorate of Global Partnerships and External Relations, leading efforts to support Ukraine’s green industrial recovery.
Previously, he served as Managing Director of UNIDO’s Directorate of Environment and Energy, and before that, as Director of the Environment Department. He also spent over a decade as a Senior Programme Officer with the Multilateral Fund for the Implementation of the Montreal Protocol. Prior to his tenure with the United Nations, he was active in research and technology transfer, contributing to several international technical panels and task forces. His work has been recognized with an award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and a contribution acknowledgment by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in the context of the Nobel Peace Prize. Mr. Sicars holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hanover.
